Your Tesla electric car will come equipped with a Mobile connector which plugs into the charge port on your Tesla and the other end plugs into an outlet. Tesla recommends charging from a 240 volt outlet rather than a 110 volt outlet. A 240 volt outlet provides a lot more power than a standard outlet and will charge your Tesla faster. The Tesla charging station we install consists of a wall connector that is installed on a 240 Volt circuit and which will supply with up to twice the amperage as an outlet. At maximum amperage it supplies two times more power than the Single Charger can process. This is where Dual Chargers come into play, doubling the charging capacity to 20 kW to match the output of the Wall Connector.
The most convenient time to charge your Tesla is often at night when your Tesla is parked in your garage. Simply plug in when you arrive home. The car will charge right away or at the time you’ve scheduled using the Touchscreen or a smartphone. Long before morning, your Tesla will be charged and ready to go.
Charging at night is not only convenient, but it can also save money as most utility companies offer “Time of Use” plans which offer lower rates when demand is less. Most electric cars allow you to select the time when you want to charge to take advantage of these lower rates.
